Undisputed, a spiritual successor to EA’s Fight Night boxing games, will soon see Jake Paul headline its next batch of downloadable boxers. Paul, who recently defeated boxing legend Mike Tyson via decision, will join Undisputed’s roster starting December 12 as part of The Problem Child DLC, which doesn’t have a confirmed price yet. Developer Steel City Interactive says that it did a full motion capture of Paul, ensuring that his in-game model reflects his signature fighting style and his “unapologetic” persona.
Jake Paul is a contentious figure, having first established himself as a YouTuber and influencer before moving into other areas, including boxing. He was previously accused of sexual assault, a claim he has denied.
Paul will be joined by several other boxers in the future DLC packs Mexican Legends and Hard-Hitting Heavyweights. Mexican Legends will add Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, and Juan Manuel Márquez, while Hard-Hitting Heavyweights will drop James ‘Buster’ Douglas, Otto Wallin, and Zhilei Zhang to the game.
Each new fighter will come with an alternate outfit, and Steel City plans to add new outfits for Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk–the two will meet in a rematch on December 21–new venues, animations, and several other updates for free in the future.
Undisputed launched in October, and the game has received positive reviews so far. On GameSpot’s sister site Metacritic it has a metascore of 72, with several reviews praising it for impressive visuals and solid fundamentals while also noting that it lstill has plenty of room for improvement. If you’re interested in going a few rounds with Jake Paul, Undisputed is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
