For Apple users who prefer the company’s small tablets, the long wait for an updated iPad Mini is almost over. Earlier this week, Apple revealed the first major revision to Apple’s line of travel-friendly tablets since 2021. Pricing for the iPad Mini starts at $500, and all configurations and colors are available to preorder at Amazon ahead of the tablet’s release on October 23. Storage capacity starts at 128GB for the entry-level model and maxes out at 512GB, while the color options include Space Gray, Blue, Purple, and Starlight.

For the upgrades, the iPad Mini is now equipped with a powerful A17 Pro chip, which Apple says provides up to 30% more power. The GPU is also roughly 25% faster and the tablet also offers Apple Pencil Pro support, in case you’re looking to do some quick sketching while you’re on the move. This is currently on sale for its lowest price yet–$90–and is a great tool to grab if you want to flex your creative muscles.
Overall, there’s enough hardware power in here to run your favorite games and use intensive creative apps like Procreate and LumaFusion. There’s also support for Apple Intelligence–Apple’s fancy new AI system that’ll be launching soon–and the 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display will allow for some sharp Netflix and gaming sessions.
With the new iPad Mini releasing next week, Amazon has dropped the price of the 2021 iPad Mini to $380. This model only comes with 64GB of storage, but it also launched with a retail price of $500. It’s nice to see that Apple doubled the storage and added substantial performance boosts while maintaining the $500 entry-level price with the 2024 iPad Mini.

If you’d prefer something with a more standard size, there are some deals on the 2024 iPad Pro and iPad Airs that released earlier this year. You can’t go wrong with an iPad Pro as these tablets are designed to last for years and offer some of Apple’s best technology, like a high-resolution display and the powerful M4 chip that can run AAA games like Assassin’s Creed Mirage. You can save $100 on the big 13-inch model with 512GB of storage capacity, while the 11-inch version with a ridiculous 1TB of storage capacity is down to $1,484 (was $1,599).
The iPad Pros might be a little too pricy for some, but for a nice middleground option, the new M2 iPad Air tablets are both powerful and portable. Amazon is offering a few of these with M2 chips at a slightly discounted price, and they also provide a sharp display, a smooth user experience, and an impressive amount of power inside of their sleek shells.
Alternatively, if you’re looking for a tablet that you can relax with in bed by watching videos on it or browsing the web, older iPad models are more than up to the task. One of the big bargains at Amazon is a 9th Gen iPad for $224, a pretty good deal considering that it normally costs $329.
