Two of the biggest console exclusives in the works are Marvel’s Wolverine for PS5 and Perfect Dark for Xbox Series X|S. Fascinatingly enough, the creative director for the former has swapped to take over the same position at the latter game from Microsoft’s The Initiative and Crystal Dynamics.
Game File reported that Brian Horton hasn’t been overseeing Wolverine since sometime this summer. In fact, Horton left Insomniac Games altogether to become creative director on Perfect Dark. An Xbox spokesperson told Game File that he is “bringing his wealth of experience to the upcoming reboot of the classic secret agent series.”

The former Insomniac developer previously served on Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, too, but apparently creative differences led to Horton no longer working on Wolverine. That wasn’t the only change either, as Cameron Christian is no longer directing the PS5 game (though it’s noted that Christian is staying at Insomniac).
In their place now is the leadership duo behind Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, one of the best PlayStation games of 2021. Mike Daly has taken over as game director for Wolverine, with Marcus Smith on as creative director.
Neither game has an official release window. Wolverine does take place in the same universe as Spider-Man on PS5, but other than that, not much is known. However, do be aware that spoilers for Wolverine spread on the internet after the Insomniac hack last year. Meanwhile, Perfect Dark got its first gameplay trailer in June at the Xbox Games Showcase. It’s a single-player game with an emphasis on parkour, gadgets, and spying.
