Arcane Season 1 left fans on a pretty big cliffhanger in 2021, and it was a long enough time for Jinx voice actress Ella Purnell to become a breakout star in both Yellowjackets and Fallout. Next month, Arcane Season 2 will finally pick up where the show left off as Jinx set off a war between the cities of Piltover and Zaun right at the moment where there could have been peace. In a newly released trailer, Jinx’s sister, Vi (Hailee Steinfeld), realizes that there’s no turning back for her sibling now. And a final battle between the sisters is inevitable.
A few glimpses from that battle are seen in this trailer, as are some flashbacks to Season 1 when Vi and Jinx were children. In the present, Vi seems to be punishing herself for her failure to save Jinx, even though she has found a place among the citizens of Piltover. It still isn’t clear how many members of Piltover’s ruling council survived Jinx’s attack, but Vi isn’t the only one who has decided that Jinx has to be stopped… or killed.
Conversely, the previous trailer revealed that the people of Zaun now view Jinx as a hero and a leader. In their eyes, she struck at their oppressor in a way that they never could before. And thanks to the weapons designed by Jinx, Zaun may actually have a chance of winning the war with Piltover. But that fight may not be the only threat on the horizon, as the latest trailer introduces a shadowy figure of unknown power and intent.
Netflix is splitting up the second and final season of Arcane into three acts that will be released over three weeks. Arcane Season 2 Act 1 will drop on November 9, followed by Act 2 on November 16, and Act 3 on November 23.
