20 years after Scott Pilgrim leveled up and took down the League of Evil Exes, one of the box sets collecting Brian Lee O’Malley’s original graphic novels has gotten a big discount. While the Scott Pilgrim books have been in print for several years, this is a nice way to check out the series in its entirety–especially if you’ve been wanting to watch the Scott Pilgrim series on Netflix. Normally $90, you can pick this collection up for just $54 at Amazon.
The nice thing about this particular release is that all six paperback graphic novels come inside of a slipcase cover featuring the cast of Scott Pilgrim in their 16-bit video game forms, plus there’s an exclusive poster featuring an all-new full-color piece illustrated by O’Malley. This whole set is around 1,200 pages in size, and if you’ve never read it, you’re in for a great story about love, growing up, and several energetic fight scenes.
It’s worth noting that these are black-and-white graphic novels, but there is a color version that released as a premium box set in August for Scott Pilgrim’s 20th anniversary. This one is more expensive due to this shift in presentation, but it does include all six graphic novels in hardcover format and the box they’re stored in is a lovely tribute to mid-2000s PlayStation graphic design. There is a remastered monochrome version of the box set as well that comes in its own unique PlayStation-inspired box, but it’s more expensive than the color version at the moment.
There’s also the Scott Pilgrim Print Collection that has just been released, a celebration of the landmark graphic novel series with a selection of 21 fine art prints. These showcase iconic moments from the comics and never-before-seen art, and each one is a frame-ready image personally curated by O’Malley. There are even randomly inserted, limited-edition sketch prints in several of these, so you might end up with a real collector’s item if you decide to pick one up. This has been slightly discounted since launch, and you can pick it up now for $27.
The 4K Blu-ray edition of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is available for $19 at Amazon. It comes with 4K and standard Blu-ray discs as well as a digital copy of the stellar adaptation.
